Lammens kisses Man Utd badge in the tunnel again as Manchester United prepare to face Bournemouth at Old Trafford on 25 October 2026. The gesture from Senne Lammens follows earlier examples shared during his time at the club.
The moment was spotted in the pre-match television pictures as United prepared to face the Cherries. It adds another chapter to a small but recognisable connection between the Belgian goalkeeper and the crest on his shirt.
Updated: 25 October 2026. Match information below reflects the first-half live update at 14:47 GMT.
Manchester United 0–2 Bournemouth: First-Half Update
United’s afternoon quickly became more difficult on the pitch. Sky Sports’ live coverage had Bournemouth leading 2–0 at 14:47 GMT, with Rayan and Marcus Tavernier scoring late in the first half. This was the score during the match, rather than a full-time result.
Lammens started in goal, with Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Ayden Heaven and Diogo Dalot in the back four. The pre-match badge kiss offered a brief personal moment before another demanding afternoon for United’s goalkeeper.
Bruno Fernandes began on the bench after publicly questioning United’s approach in the 4–1 defeat at Como. According to Reuters’ pre-match report, Carrick described the selection as a football decision, while Maguire took the captain’s armband. United had entered the day with only one win from seven league matches.
The Earlier Badge Kiss Shared by UnitedPeoplesTV
The UnitedPeoplesTV post embedded below was published on 7 September 2026. It had already highlighted Lammens’ repeated badge-kissing and offered the goalkeeper support after an earlier match.
That September post predates the Bournemouth fixture. It provides another documented example of the gesture, alongside the Everton footage from February.
Lammens Had Done It Before Against Everton
A report published by Tribuna on 25 February 2026 described Lammens kissing the United badge several times in the tunnel before the Everton match. Social posts shared the same moment, with the footage credited to utdreport.
The match itself took place on 23 February 2026 at Hill Dickinson Stadium. United won 1–0 through Benjamin Šeško’s second-half goal, while Lammens kept a clean sheet.
The earlier footage gives the Bournemouth moment a clear precedent. On both occasions, the gesture came in the tunnel before kick-off, placing it within his preparations for the match.
A Message of Unity Before Bournemouth
The Bournemouth fixture came after a difficult week for United, including their 4–1 Champions League defeat at Como. Before the match, Lammens had already spoken publicly about the mood inside the dressing room.
In an interview with Sky Sports published on 25 October, he said the players remained behind Michael Carrick and needed to improve together. Explaining the frustration after defeats, he acknowledged that comments made immediately after games could be misunderstood or insufficiently explained.
“We’re all together behind the coach.”
His comments provide a clearer statement of his position than any interpretation of a brief gesture. The badge kiss came on the same afternoon that he was publicly emphasising collective responsibility.
From Royal Antwerp to Manchester United
Lammens joined United from Royal Antwerp on 1 September 2025. His official club profile records his debut on 4 October 2025, against Sunderland.
Just over a year after that first appearance, he was again in the starting lineup for the Bournemouth game. The tunnel moment therefore belongs to a goalkeeper who has moved beyond his arrival period and into the daily demands of being United’s first choice.
The earlier examples from February and September show that the Bournemouth moment was part of a recurring gesture during his time at United. They sit alongside Lammens’ more explicit public message before Bournemouth: the squad needed to respond together.
